Beloved TikToker announces her own death in her final ‘Get Ready With Me’ video

Dr. Kimberley Nix became a household name for thousands of people when she began sharing her cancer journey on social media.

Nix, now 31, first began her battle three years ago at the age of 28. She was diagnosed with metastatic sarcoma.

Sadly, she just announced the news of her own death via her final “Get Ready with Me” TikTok video. “Get ready with me, one last time,” she told her fans.

“Hello, followers. If you’re seeing this message, I have passed away peacefully,” the doctor began her final video message.

“For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Kim. Hi,” she continued before encouraging new people who just found her page to stay around and learn more about the facts of sarcoma and her lived experience “with death and dying.”

Nix, a resident doctor who trained in internal medicine, told her followers that she lived a “beautiful life” that she is so “proud of.”

“Those who know me know I love my pets, my husband, and makeup, in the reverse order,” she laughed, adding in “all her family and friends,” as well. “And though doctor and researcher are a big part of my identity, those are the things that matter.”

As she told her followers, when she joined TikTok her only goal was to spread awareness around sarcoma. “We were a successful team.”

According to Nix, there are “over 100 subtypes” of sarcoma. She was originally diagnosed with extra-skeletal osteosarcoma, before later learning that she had undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma, People reports.

“Symptoms of sarcoma are so important because there is no screening test,” Nix explained in her efforts to raise awareness. “My symptom was the most common symptom in soft tissue sarcoma. (Everything was) completely normal — including all my lab values — except for a small, but rapidly growing lump in my left leg.”

“It went from the size of a pea to the size of a golf ball in just over a week.’

At the end of her video, Nix got emotional. “I love you all, thank you so much for this amazing opportunity. I’m in happy tears because you’ve all made me find so much purpose in the end of my life.”

“My journey here is over and I can’t thank each and every one of you enough,” Nix wrote in the caption. “You have all made me so happy and your comments and support are more than enough to have gotten anyone through anything!”
